JanJan Camera Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 14, 2026
JanJan Camera (잔잔카메라, the “App”) respects your privacy and complies with applicable laws, including the Personal Information Protection Act of Korea. This policy explains what information the App handles and how.
1. Personal information we collect
The App has no sign-up or login and does not collect personal information such as your name, phone number, or email. There is no operator server. To stay free, the App shows Google AdMob ads; the information sent for ads is described in Section 4.
2. Information stored only on your device
The following information you record is stored only on your device and is never sent to the operator or any third party.
- Drink photos you take or pick from your photo library
- Date and time taken, temperature (iced or hot), type (coffee, tea, or other), and a one-line note
- App settings such as the last selected temperature and whether the date stamp is shown
3. Camera and photos
- Camera: The App asks for camera permission so you can shoot drinks inside the cup frame. Photos are saved and displayed only on your device.
- Import from library: Only the single photo you choose in the system photo picker is passed to the App; the App does not access your whole photo library. To show when the photo was taken, the App reads that photo’s capture date (EXIF) on your device.
- Share as image: When you choose to share, the image you made is passed to the app you select (Messages, Instagram, etc.), and choosing “Save Image” adds it to the Photos app. After that, the privacy policy of that app applies.
4. Ads and information sent off the device
The App is free and supported by Google AdMob ads. To show ads, the following information is sent to Google.
| Recipient | Information | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Device information (model, OS version), approximate location estimated from IP address, ad impressions and clicks, ad SDK performance and error information, and the advertising identifier (IDFA) if you allow tracking | Serving ads, measuring ad performance, preventing ad fraud |
- The information sent to Google does not include your photos, memos, or drink records.
- Full-screen ads occasionally appear on the Collection screen after you have saved several drinks. There are no ads on the camera, capture, or save screens.
- If you choose “Watch an ad to share without the logo,” a rewarded ad plays; if you watch it to the end, share images leave out the logo for 24 hours.
5. Ads and permission to track
- After you save your first drink, the App asks once for App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission. If you allow it, ads personalized with the advertising identifier may be shown. If you don’t, every feature of the App works the same.
- You can change this at any time in iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
- Where the law requires consent, Google’s consent management tool asks for ad-related consent, and you can change it any time from “광고 개인정보 설정” (Ad privacy settings) on the Records screen.
6. International transfer
Through the Google service in Section 4, information may be transferred abroad.
- Recipient: Google LLC (contact: https://support.google.com/policies)
- Countries: the United States and other countries where Google operates data centers
- Items: the AdMob information in Section 4
- When and how: over the network when ads are loaded or shown while you use the App
- Purpose: serving and measuring ads
- Retention: according to Google’s retention policies
If you do not want this transfer, you can stop using and delete the App. After deletion, no further information is sent.
Apart from the ad-related transfer above and sharing you choose yourself, the App does not provide your information to third parties.
7. Retention and deletion
- Delete one record: Long-press a photo in the collection, or tap the delete button on the detail screen, to delete that record and its photo from your device.
- Delete all records: Deleting the App removes all records and photos stored on your device.
If you use a full iPhone backup (iCloud Backup or a computer backup), App data may be included in that backup according to Apple’s backup policy.
8. Children under 14
The App is not directed at children under 14 and does not collect children’s personal information.
9. Your rights
The operator cannot access information stored on your device, so you can view, edit, and delete your records directly in the App. You can change camera permission at any time in iPhone Settings > Apps > 잔잔카메라.
You can change tracking permission in iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
