shh.cut is a camera with no shutter sound. Take photos anywhere without turning heads, leave your own words on them like a stamp, and make a four-cut strip with friends.
What it does
- Silent capture: no shutter sound, and the sharpest frame around the moment you press is the one you keep.
- Looks: Original, Milk, Cream, Film, Cool and Flash, plus one Look that changes every week. Strength is adjustable.
- Your stamp: the date or your own words on the photo — six typefaces, four colors, nine spots, size, and a D-day counter.
- Four cuts: four shots three seconds apart, laid out as a 2×2 or a 1×4 strip, with frames to choose from.
- Ratios: 3:4, 9:16 for stories, or 1:1, chosen before you shoot.
- Selfies: screen flash, skin smoothing, and a mirror setting.
- Quick to open: volume buttons take the photo; a Control Center and Lock Screen button opens the camera.
- Three languages: English, 한국어, 日本語.
Privacy, kept small
- No account.
- Photos are processed on your device and never uploaded.
- The app asks for add-only access to Photos and never reads your library.
FAQ
- Is it really silent? Yes — the photo is a frame from the live camera feed, so the system shutter sound never plays. It is not made for secret filming: please don't use it where photography is not allowed or where people have not agreed to be photographed.
- Low-light photos look soft. The app picks the sharpest of several frames around the shutter, but dark scenes blur easily. On the front camera, try the screen flash.
- What about landscape? The app reads how you hold the phone and saves the photo upright.
- My stamp text isn't applied. Custom text and the typefaces beyond the default need a rewarded ad, which unlocks them for 24 hours. Until then photos get the free date stamp.
- What is the weekly Look? One extra Look that changes every week. Previewing is always free; saving or sharing with it needs one rewarded ad, good for 24 hours.
- Where is skin smoothing? It appears on the result screen only when a face is found, and it starts on for selfies.
- Where do ads appear? Never on the camera, at capture, or while choosing a Look. A full-screen ad shows up occasionally when you return to the camera after several saves.
- Photos are not saving. Check Settings > Apps > shh.cut > Photos and allow “Add Photos Only”.
- Changing language. Settings > Apps > shh.cut > Language.
